Starting the Long Weekend

Well the long weekend is here! Planned to work on the camper all weekend but realized that the axel is really not placed where it should be. Instead of rushing the build, I have to do it right the first time. A friend is going to move the axel back for me about 12" +/- . Hopefully I will get it back in a week or so but will take the deck off before I give the trailer to Paul to make the adjustments. That way it is clear for him to work and I can tar the bottom.

On the brighter side, found the window on Kijiji from a guy that took them out of a 17" Boler. Perfect 18" x 24", and he had 3 of them so I have a backup. Also while looking around, found 4 stabilizer jacks. All for $40.00!! Stopped in Canadian Tire on the Way home checking something out and 2 new stabilizer jacks cost $ 38.99, what a great deal!

Eventful Day!!

I have been trying to source small camper windows with not much luck. I put an ad on Kijiji and someone responded today, yeh!! He has windows out of a 17' Boler camper. They should be perfect! Going to check them out in the next few days. Also, got the wood for the floor, sides, and roof. (thanks Jamie helping me get it home) Starting the build this weekend by taking the deck off the trailer, undercoating it and extending it on the front by 6". A little worried that there may not be enough weight on the tongue so am extending the front a bit to move some weight forward and also adding some length to the sleeping area. Will be taking pics over the weekend to show the progress. Stay tuned!!

I think this is the design?

.
Downloaded a trial version of Smart Draw to draft out my design with dimensions. I already know there will be changes but this is the basic idea of the plan.

Here is the first part I need.

Well, I got the base for the Camper. A 4' x 8' homemade utility trailer. Now time to start the design.
